CDBG-CV Residential Assistance Program

This program is designed to assist eligible residents who have experienced a financial hardship directly or indirectly related to COVID-19. Assistance may be available for housing-related past due expenses, subject to funding availability and program guidelines.

The program offers a one-time grant of up to $8,000 to cover past due Rent, Mortgage, and/or Utility bills.

Payments are made directly to service providers, including landlords, mortgage lenders, homeowner associations (HOAs), or utility companies.

Program Overview

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Demonstrate they experienced a COVID-19–related hardship (such as loss of income, reduction in work hours, business impact, or other financial effects resulting from the pandemic)
  • Meet applicable income, expenses, Miramar Residency, and property status eligibility requirements as outlined below. 

Income requirements

Household gross annual income must not exceed 80% of the area median income (AMI) for household size, per the below income chart:

Eligible Expenses

  • Utility Bills (Light or Water)
  • Mortgage (including homeowner’s insurance, property taxes, HOA fees)
  • Rent 

Property Requirements

Resident and Property address must be in the City of Miramar, the applicant’s principal residence, not under foreclosure, Lis Pendens, or listed for short sale.
