Consuls General Visit- Experience Florida Event

The City of Miramar, in partnership with Broward County OESBD and the U.S. Department of State, hosted Consuls General to showcase Miramar's appeal, promote economic opportunities, demonstrate law enforcement capabilities, and celebrate American values.

Nelson Mandela Bay Visits Miramar

In partnership with the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality (NMBM) and the Economic Development and Housing (EDH) Department, an NMBM delegation visited the City of Miramar. The visit aimed to foster discussions and identify strategic areas for collaboration and skills transfers. The focus included Economic Development, Water Management, Tourism, Agriculture, Sports & Recreation, and Arts & Culture.

First Fridays: Network and Chill, DJ Irie

Network and Chill, led by Mayor Wayne Messam, engages Millennial and Gen Z professionals (21-40) through a six-month series of monthly networking events. Held on the first Friday, these events feature business leaders, innovators, and local celebrity guest speakers. Attendees enjoy music, refreshments, and a casual atmosphere at local Miramar businesses, fostering authentic storytelling.

Miramar Sister Cities Delegation Trip to Belize

On October 13, 2021, Miramar established the Sister Cities Board. On August 21, 2024, Miramar and Belize City signed a Sister City agreement. From August 4-8, 2025, a Miramar delegation visited Belize City, reciprocating the visit and ceremony. They met dignitaries, explored economic, educational, and cultural opportunities, and held various meetings.

Miramar Commission Visit to Barraterre, Exuma

On April 3, 2025, Commissioner Avril K. Cherasard of Miramar, Florida, received an invitation to be the guest of honor at the 40th Annual Barraterre Homecoming Festival & Regatta, held from June 5–9, 2025. Florida Sister Cities International Economic Development Summit

Ordinance #22-01 was passed and adopted on October 13, 2021, to establish the Miramar Sister Cities Board (the “Board”). The Board was created to build mutually beneficial relationships between Miramar and its international Sister Cities and to make recommendations to the City Commission concerning these cities. The Miramar Sister Cities Board met monthly since March 2022, including two workshops:
